I believed that this essay was very good and it showed many themes. The play talks about an African American Family's struggles to make ends meet and attempt to buy a new house. They receive money because a family member died, and the film shows how the family is deciding to spend their money.
One of the themes that this play portrays is the family's need to fight racial discrimination. The family is offered a lot of money in order to not move into an all white community. The family is very offended by this and ultimately turn down the offer because they feel that they should be able to live wherever they want to live. This is an example of how this family fights the racial discrimination in the play.
This film also portrays the importance of family. The family gets very angry at each other throughout the play and hit each other, but the family always sticks together. The family is very resilient throughout the entire play. An example of this is when the family finds out that Walter has lost all of his money because his friend stole it and ran off with it. The family is very mad at him, but they stick by his side.
Overall I really enjoyed this play. The writers does a very good job at depicting the racial discrimination that this family faced in the play. The film can help me understand what many African American people had to go through in order to do things like purchase a house. To conclude I really enjoyed this play and I would recommend it to everybody.

The sentence I liked most from your response is when you said that the family gets angry at each other but they always stick together. I think this is a very important lesson and the writer does a good job of portraying that throughout the play.
